After spending 3 days in North Bay at NODA (Northern Ontario Dental Association), I took my “Transition Without Commission” message to Ottawa.
On DAY 1 in Ottawa, I attended Henry Schein’s Dental Fest and met with old friends and new (that’s me beside the rollup banners, talking about Jamaica and how we help dentists sell practices). Thereafter, we headed to the Keg for some drinks and appetizers; luckily I was able to charge S.A.M. at a public charging station next door (see pic below). They’re not Tesla superchargers, but they’ll have to do in times of need! I was actually quite disappointed that Ottawa did not have a Tesla supercharger. Toronto, Barrie, Kingston, Cornwall and Montreal all have one. So why not Ottawa? It was annoying at times trying to find a public supercharger and it took hours to add tens of kilometres. A Tesla supercharger could have given me hundreds of kilometres in just 20-30 minutes! But I digress…
On DAY 2 of my Ottawa adventures, I visited dentists who were interested in transitioning. Then later that evening, I presented to a room packed full of dentists from Ottawa on how to Make the Most and Pay the Least. Julie Lyons-Wolfe of The Handpiece Clinic, Kevin Miller of Henry Schein, and Rick Baldwin of TD Bank were all in attendance. Julie even surprised everyone by bringing a case of Delirium Tremens Beer, which she distributed to all in attendance. Amazing!
Finally, on DAY 3, I presented at the first Untied from the Chair Conference. Many thanks to Julie Lyons-Wolfe of The Handpiece Clinic for organizing it. The well-attended event took place at the Orange Art Gallery in Ottawa (see pic below). After the conference, I went with Dr. Guillaume Tremblay and Julie Lyons-Wolfe to “Art-Is-In” Bakery and bought a bunch of goodies to take home to Paris (my wife). Thanks to Dr. Guillaume Tremblay, we received a guided tour from the manager while sipping on our Americanos. Great place for specialty coffee and baked goods in Ottawa! Finally headed home, back to Toronto, and stopped in Kingston to supercharge (FREE) for a few minutes.
I look forward to returning to Ottawa soon…
